The men’s squad at Doncaster Rowing Club has seen considerable growth in the last couple of years. Our stalwart group of seasoned veteran rowers have been joined by a steady stream of graduates from our Learn to Row courses. We pride ourselves on the way everyone in the squad has integrated and on our strong team spirit.
We compete throughout the winter Head (long distance time trial type events) season and have entered crews at events in York, Boston, Newark and Lincoln amongst others.
2014 saw the squad return to regatta (shorter side by side racing) events and we fully intend keep that going this summer.
Training is on Tuesday and Thursday nights at the boathouse. In the winter we work on endurance on the ergos (rowing machines) and circuits and all levels of fitness are catered for. In the summer these evening sessions are water based and we also row on Sunday mornings throughout the year.
New members are always welcome. If you’ve rowed before you’re welcome to come along to the boathouse and make yourself known, or use the contact details on the website. If you’re new to rowing have a look at the learn to row section on the website as this provides the best route into the sport.
